Luca Staricco

Luca Staricco is an Associate Professor at the Interuniversity Department of Territorial Sciences, Planning and Policies (DIST) at the Polytechnic University of Turin. He serves as Coordinator of the Planning and Design College and is a Member of the Investigative Commission for the Coordination of Teaching and Training Activities.

His research focuses on:

• Integration of transport and land use planning
• Regional planning
• Sustainable mobility
• Transport and land use interaction
• Urban resilience and climate change adaptation
• Autonomous vehicles and urban planning

His recent publications analyze urban planning challenges related to climate change adaptation, autonomous vehicles, street experiments, and accessibility in urban and rural contexts. He has contributed to research on the 15-minute city model, transit-oriented development, and sustainable deployment of new urban mobility solutions.

Dr. Staricco is involved in teaching activities at the PhD level for Urban and Regional Development and has taught or collaborated in courses related to:

• Sustainable urban mobility
• Future of e-mobility
• Spatial planning
• Migrations and settlements

He has coordinated numerous research projects including ARTACLIM on climate change, POCACITO on post-carbon cities, and ALPINFONET on sustainable mobility in the Alpine space. He has also led commercial service provisions for sustainable mobility strategies and Turin city reports.
