Luca Incurvati is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam. He leads the Formal Semantics and Philosophical Logic research unit at ILLC and serves as an editor of The Review of Symbolic Logic. Previously, he held roles at the University of Cambridge, including a PhD from St John's College and Research Fellowships at Magdalene College and Lecturer in the Faculty of Philosophy.
His research focuses on philosophy of mathematics, formal and philosophical logic, philosophy of language, meta-ethics, and metaphysics. Notable projects include the ERC-funded EXPRESS Project exploring expressivist semantics through disagreement analysis. His work bridges foundational questions in logic with semantic and epistemic investigations.
Incurvati has published extensively on topics such as supervaluationism, inferentialism, set-theoretic conceptions, and epistemic modality. His books include Conceptions of Set and the Foundations of Mathematics (2020) and Reasoning with Attitude (2023, with Julian Schlöder). His research often addresses logical pluralism, the semantics of negation, and the philosophical implications of multilateral frameworks.
He has received grants such as the ERC Starting Grant (2018–2023) and contributes to academic leadership through editorial roles and conference organization. His interdisciplinary approach integrates logic, metaphysics, and linguistic analysis to advance foundational debates in philosophy.
