Luca Gerardo-Giorda is a Group Leader at the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM), part of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. He holds qualifications as a Full Professor in Numerical Analysis (Italian Ministry, 2018) and a Professor in Applied Mathematics (French Ministry, 2014). Born in Barge, Italy, he earned his Laurea in Mathematics from the University of Turin (1996) and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Trento (2002). His research focuses on mathematical methods applied to medicine and life sciences, with prior experience in fluid dynamics and industry collaborations.
Research Interests: Developing computational models for biomedical applications, numerical analysis, and interdisciplinary projects bridging mathematics with medical and engineering challenges. His work emphasizes practical solutions for real-world problems, such as those encountered in the energy and healthcare sectors.
