Luca Falciola is an Assistant Professor at the The City College of New York (CCNY) and an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s European Institute. His research focuses on social movements, radical politics, and political violence, using historical and comparative methods to analyze anti-systemic cultures, collective mobilization, radicalization, protest policing, and legal militancy.
- Education: Ph.D. in History from Sciences Po, Paris.
His work bridges European Politics and Political Violence, with publications emphasizing contentious politics in Europe and the United States. He authored two books: Up Against the Law: Radical Lawyers and Social Movements, 1960s–1970s (UNC Press, 2022) and The Movement of 1977 in Italy (Carocci, 2015).
He has held postdoctoral and research positions at institutions such as New York University’s Center for the United States and the Cold War, Yale University’s Program on Order, Conflict, and Violence, and the Catholic University of Milan.
