معرفی
Luca Deseri is a Full Professor of Solid and Structural Mechanics at the University of Trento, Italy. He is also a Research Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science (University of Pittsburgh, USA), Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and a Full Affiliate Member at the Department of Nanomedicine, Houston Methodist Research Institute. His research spans multiscale mechanics, biomechanics, and nonlinear elasticity.
- Ph.D., University of Pisa
- Master of Science in Structural Engineering, University of Bologna
His work focuses on multiscale modeling of materials and structures, with applications to ligand-binding in cell membranes, mechanobiology, granular materials, ceramics, and concrete rheology. He has published extensively on fractional hereditariness, structured deformations, and nonlinear elasticity.
Recent publications address lipid monolayer collapse, mechanotropism in cells, auxetic materials, bilayer deformation mechanics, and poroelasticity. His research often bridges solid mechanics with biology and biomedical engineering.
Luca leads the Laboratory for Physical Modeling of Structures and Photoelasticity at the University of Trento, contributing to interdisciplinary studies in mechanics and biomedicine.
