Luc Monnin is a Professor of French at Reed College, where he has taught since 2004. His scholarly work focuses on Early Modern literature and culture, the novel, and literary theory, often incorporating visual arts perspectives.
He received a B.A. in French Literature from the University of Geneva and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University (2004). His publications include critical analyses of Sarraute, Rousseau, Montaigne, Fontenelle, Condillac, and 18th-century language theory.
