Luay Nakhleh is the William and Stephanie Sick Dean of the George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing at Rice University, holding dual appointments as Professor of Computer Science and BioSciences. He joined Rice in 2004 as an Assistant Professor, advancing to Full Professor by 2016. From 2017–2020, he served as Chair of the Computer Science Department. His research focuses on phylogenomics, computational biology, and evolutionary network analysis with applications to cancer genomics and biological systems.
