Associate Professor Luara Ferracioli is a political philosopher at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry. She holds a PhD from the Australian National University (ANU) and has held positions at the University of Oxford, Princeton University, and the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on ethics of migration, family ethics, and bioethics, particularly artificial wombs and parenting responsibilities. She leads an ARC DECRA project on artificial womb ethics and authored Parenting and the Goods of Childhood (2023) and Liberal Self-Determination in a World of Migration (2022).
She has received grants including the ARC DECRA and a Veni Grant. Current projects include exploring artificial womb technology and family migration policies.

Research Interests: Political theory of immigration, family justice, ethics of procreation, refugee protection.
