Luana de Souza Sutter is a Doctoral Student and Lecturer at the University of Erfurt’s Faculty of Philosophy, affiliated with the Department of Literary Studies. She specializes in American Literature and contributes to research teams led by Prof. Dr. Ilka Lensen-Saal. Her work focuses on Memory and Trauma Studies, Postcolonial Studies, African American Literature, and Cultural and Media Studies.
Her research interests include analyzing trauma narratives in works like Toni Morrison’s Beloved and exploring postcolonial themes in Brazilian literature. She has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Contemporary Women’s Writing (Oxford UP) and Brasiliana – Journal for Brazilian Studies.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on Post-Soul Literature, Trauma Narratives, and the aesthetics of Toni Morrison. She is part of a multidisciplinary team conducting research on global literary and cultural intersections.
