معرفی
Lu Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Horticulture & Landscape Architecture at Oklahoma State University. His research focuses on pecan phenological models, nutrient uptake mechanisms, and orchard management strategies to enhance productivity. He holds a PhD from Washington State University, an MS from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a BS from Yangzhou University. Postdoctoral training was completed at the University of California, Davis.
Education:
- PhD in Horticulture, Washington State University (2011-2014)
- MS in Horticulture, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2008-2011)
- BS in Horticulture, Yangzhou University (2004-2008)
- Postdoctoral Scholar, University of California, Davis (2016-2018)
Research Interests:
Dr. Zhang's work addresses challenges in pecan cultivation, including nutrient management, mycorrhizal interactions, freeze tolerance, and carbohydrate dynamics. Key projects involve developing predictive models for nut growth and optimizing rootstock-scion combinations for resilience.
Grants & Funding:
Recent grants include studies on pecan irrigation strategies, goji berry cultivation, and maple syrup production. Notable projects explore nitrogen efficiency, drought tolerance, and carbohydrate reserves in pecan trees.
Teaching:
Teaches courses such as Hort3213 Fruit and Nut Production, Hort4963/5963 Plant Physiology, and Hort4133 Temperature Stress Physiology.
Publications:
Recent articles focus on root regeneration mechanisms, nitrogen-zinc fertility in pecans, and the impact of shade nets on hydroponic crops. His work bridges molecular biology with applied horticultural practices.
