Lu He

Lu He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Care Informatics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). She holds a PhD in Informatics from the University of California, Irvine (2023) and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota (2017). Her research focuses on leveraging computational methods like Natural Language Processing (NLP) to analyze health-related data from social media, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and clinical notes.

Dr. He’s work examines temporal trends in public health attitudes, patient concerns about healthcare quality, and social determinants of health in rare cancer cases. She has developed NLP pipelines for extracting clinical information and evaluating sentiment analysis tools.
