Louise Breuval is a Research Fellow at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore and a member of the SH0ES team. Her research focuses on resolving the Hubble tension through improved astronomical distance measurements using Cepheid variables.
- Primary calibration of Cepheid distances via Gaia parallaxes and Hubble Space Telescope photometry
- Investigation of metallicity dependence in Cepheid brightness and systematic uncertainties
- Exploration of alternative standard candles (TRGB, JAGB) for the cosmic distance ladder
Current collaborations include the SH0ES team, with prior involvement in the Araucaria Project. Her work has been validated by recent JWST observations confirming discrepancies in Hubble Constant measurements.
