Louise Biddle

Louise Biddle is a Researcher at DIW Berlin, affiliated with the German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) since 2023. She joined as a post-doctoral researcher on the SUARE project (Longitudinal Study of Refugees from Ukraine in Germany), focusing on discrimination and health outcomes. She holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD in Public Health from Bielefeld University.

Her research focuses on the social and contextual determinants of health among migrants and refugees, including housing, social networks, discrimination, regional deprivation, health systems, and asylum policy. She has contributed to projects such as the IAB-BAMF-SOEP Survey of Refugees in Germany and the RESPOND survey on refugee healthcare provision.

Her recent work emphasizes the use of natural experiments to explore causal effects of neighborhood and policy contexts on health. Key areas of interest include migration health, health inequality, and survey methodology.
