Louisa Lam is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Monash University’s School of Public Health and Deputy Head of School (Melbourne) at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine, Australian Catholic University. With over 30 years of clinical and academic experience in Hong Kong and Australia, she specializes in coronary care, holding a Master’s in Public Health and a PhD in Medicine (Public Health Stream).
Her research focuses on cardiovascular disease management, nurse work satisfaction, burnout resilience, and workplace aggression in healthcare settings like Emergency Departments, Coronary Care Units, and Intensive Care. She has led or collaborated on projects addressing workplace aggression in nursing (2017–2018), resilience among healthcare workers (2016–2017), and clinical placement anxiety for nursing students (2014).
Recent articles highlight global healthcare staff wellbeing post-pandemic and qualitative insights into parental resilience after child loss. She actively supervises PhD students and contributes to community projects on emergency nurse compassion fatigue.
