Louisa Campbell is a Part-time Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design, The New School, and a member of the Parsons Research Faculty. Her work focuses on media and education, with a history of mentoring theses in the MFA Design and Technology (mfaDT) program since 2002. She co-founded the program’s writing component and currently leads projects like a studio for electronic portfolio design and curriculum development for NYC School District 3 magnet schools.
Her research interests include education, game design, interface design, management, and mobile media. She has collaborated with organizations such as the Social Science Research Council on initiatives like the New Youth City Learning Network, funded by the MacArthur Foundation. This network explores youth-driven learning through mobile technology and digital media.
Prior to her academic role, Campbell held creative and executive positions at media companies including Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Disney, and Jim Henson Productions. She is also an author of children’s books, scripts, and interactive titles.
Recent academic contributions include teaching courses like Thesis Studio 1 (PGTE 5300) and Thesis Studio 2 (PGTE 5301), with upcoming sessions in 2025–2026. Her work bridges academic research with industry实践, emphasizing innovative educational tools and youth-centric digital media.
