Lou Frankenstein

Lou Frankenstein is a researcher in Geropsychology and Cognition at the Department of Psychology, TU Chemnitz. Her work focuses on dementia, non-pharmacological interventions, and mental health in older adults. She holds a doctoral student status since 2017 and completed her psychology studies at the University of Greifswald (2012–2017).

Research Interests:

• Development and evaluation of occupational and behavioral therapies for dementia patients
• Mental health promotion in aging populations
• Psychotherapeutic approaches for dementia caregivers

Since 2020, she has been actively involved in teaching and thesis supervision at TU Chemnitz. Her professional experience includes roles as a psychologist in residential care for youth with psychological challenges (2018–2021) and as an individual case assistant supporting disabled children/adolescents since 2017. She has also completed internships atCharité Berlin (2015) and senior citizen dementia wards (2018).

Her research contributions include peer-reviewed articles and conference presentations emphasizing interdisciplinary dementia interventions. She is a member of the German Society for Gerontology and Geriatrics and the Gerontological Society of America.
