Prof. Dr. med. Lothar Schmidt (1921–2020) was a distinguished academic and medical professional affiliated with Friedensau Adventist University (FAU). As a Professor and long-standing director of the Institute of Addiction and Dependence Matters, he contributed significantly to the university's development and taught in the School of Social Sciences' social medicine program until 2012.
