معرفی
Dr. Lorraine Bateman is a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and NMR Spectroscopist at University College Cork. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from NUI Galway (2006), specializing in chiral diamide ligand synthesis and asymmetric catalysis. Her research focuses on advanced applications of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy, including quantitative NMR (qNMR), molecular structure determination, and reaction monitoring. She has led grants such as the SFI Advance Award (2014) for qNMR research and contributed to interdisciplinary studies in pharmaceutical, food, and biological sciences. Her teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate courses in spectroscopy, organic synthesis, and drug design.
Education: PhD in Chemistry (NUI Galway, 2006); BSc in Chemistry & Applied Chemistry (NUI Galway).
Research emphasizes NMR techniques for small molecule characterization, metabolomics, and dynamic processes. Notable contributions include community-led qNMR calibration systems and flowNMR-based reaction monitoring. She has published widely in journals like Chemical Science and European Journal of Organic Chemistry.
Grants & Awards: SFI Advance Award (2014), ENSNARE grant (Science Foundation Ireland, Peer-Reviewed). Teaching roles include module coordination for Research Standard Spectroscopic Methods and lecturing on advanced pharmaceutical chemistry topics.
Professional contributions include conference presentations on qNMR applications and participation in global research initiatives. Her work bridges analytical chemistry with pharmaceutical and food science applications.
