Lorna Mitchell

Lorna Mitchell is a Lecturer in Law and Employability Lead at the School of Law & Social Justice, University of Liverpool. She holds an LLB (Hons) and a PGCPE, and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE. Her roles include teaching Contract Law, Company Law, and Commercial Law, alongside coordinating modules such as LAW105 Law of Contract and LAW399 Year in Industry.

Research focuses on pedagogical innovation, including formative assessment strategies, games-based learning, and integrating employability skills into curricula. She is a frequent speaker at legal education conferences and chairs the School’s Extenuating Circumstances Committee and Staff-Student Liaison Committee.

Pre-academic, she practiced corporate law for 10+ years at firms like Allen & Overy and DWF, specializing in mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, and corporate governance. She also serves as a Director of Liverpool Law Society and hosts the Legal Directions podcast, focusing on legal careers.
