Lorna Dodd is a Researcher at Newman University, where she serves as Head of Psychology in the Department of Health and Behavioural Sciences under the Faculty of Arts, Society and Professional Studies. She holds a Doctorate in Health Psychology from Staffordshire University, an MSc in Research Methods from the Open University, and a MSc in Health Psychology from Coventry University.

Her research focuses on health behaviors and psychological well-being in young adults, particularly examining lifestyle risk factors (inactivity, smoking, diet, UV exposure) and appearance-related motivations for health decisions. She develops interventions to promote healthier lifestyles and investigates innovative teaching methods to enhance learning in higher education.
Recent publications analyze cross-cultural health patterns, indoor tanning risks, and employability frameworks. She supervises PhD and EdD students and contributes to professional networks like the Midlands Health Psychology Network.
