Lori Unruh

Dr. Lori Unruh is an Associate Professor in the Department of School Psychology at Western Carolina University, within the College of Education and Allied Professions. She serves as Director of the McKee Psychological Assessment Clinic and previously directed the School Psychology graduate program from 2007 to 2020, resuming the role in 2023. Her professional experience includes 15 years as a School Psychologist in Arizona and North Carolina before joining academia.

• BA in Elementary Education, Wichita State University

Research & Teaching: Dr. Unruh focuses on applied research in school settings and professional development in school psychology. Her teaching emphasizes academic interventions, consultation, and the MTSS framework. She supervises clinic practicum students in the School Psychology program.

Leadership & Service: She has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of School Psychologists and engages in educational advocacy at local, regional, and state levels.

Labs/Teams: Directs the McKee Psychological Assessment Clinic, integrating clinical practice and education.
