Lori Danz is a part-time biology lecturer and forest coordinator at Superior High School, affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UW-Superior). She holds a BSc in Broad Field Science (1988) and an MSE in Instruction (2014) from UW-Superior. Her career focuses on integrating science education with outdoor learning, emphasizing cognitive processes in teaching and brain-based instructional strategies.
Her research interests include educational neuroscience, outdoor education, and revitalizing school forest programs. She championed the revival of Superior High School’s 20-mile校外学习森林项目, collaborating with educators to design outdoor curricula. Danz’s academic journey included completing her master’s through a hybrid program, balancing family, work, and studies. She credits UW-Superior’s supportive environment and her adviser, Dr. Suzanne Griffith, for her academic success.
As a UW-Superior family member—her husband is a biology professor and her father also graduated from the university—Danz advocates for lifelong learning, exemplifying the importance of education through her family’s collective achievements.
