Lorenzo Moretta

Lorenzo Moretta is a Professor of General Pathology at the University of Genova and Scientific Director of Istituto Giannina Gaslini since 2000. He served as President Elect of the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) in 2009 and held leadership roles at major cancer research institutions.

Dr. Moretta is renowned for discovering the first inhibitory and activating natural killer (NK) cell receptors. His work spans immunology, oncology, and biomedical research, emphasizing NK cell biology in tumor immunology and biotechnology.
