Lore Baeten

Lore Baeten (BE) is a visiting language professor specializing in Arabic at the College of Europe’s EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies Department. She holds a Master’s in Eastern Languages and Civilizations from Ghent University, with further studies at INALCO (Paris), DEAC (Cairo), and IFPO (Damascus), where she lived and worked for four years. She concurrently teaches Arabic linguistics at KU Leuven University’s Faculty of Arts and serves as a translator and board member of Moussem Nomadic Arts Center.

Her expertise bridges language studies with Middle Eastern cultural and political contexts. Research interests include Arabic dialectology, translation methodologies, and the preservation of nomadic cultural heritage. She has contributed to academic and cultural initiatives focusing on intercultural dialogue through language and arts.
