Loraina Ghiraldi, known as Dr. G. to her students, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at St. Lawrence University. She holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology and biology from Russell Sage College and a Ph.D. in experimental biopsychology from the State University of New York at Albany.

Her research focuses on behavioral endocrinology, specifically how hormones interact with environmental and experiential factors to shape sexual, aggressive, and maternal behaviors in rodent models, alongside exploring hormonal effects on learning and memory in both rodents and humans. She also integrates interdisciplinary topics into courses like The Neuroscience of Fear (taught in Rome, Italy) and a specialty Ballroom Dancing course.
Loraina has served on multiple university committees, including Faculty Council, Professional Standards Committee, and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and coordinated SLU's international program in Denmark. Her personal interests include ballroom dancing, international travel, and cooking.
