معرفی
Lloyd Trueblood, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at La Sierra University. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Rhode Island (2010), an M.S. in Biology from Walla Walla University (2002), and a B.S. in Zoology from Andrews University (2000).
- Ph.D., Biological Sciences, University of Rhode Island, 2010
- M.S., Biology, Walla Walla University, 2002
- B.S., Zoology, Andrews University, 2000
As a marine invertebrate physiologist, Dr. Trueblood investigates how oceanic organisms survive in extreme environments. Current projects focus on hypoxia tolerance, hypercapnia response in octopus, and metabolic adaptations of Salps (pelagic tunicates) under ocean acidification. His work bridges behavioral physiology and climate change ecology.
His research has been supported by grants such as the National Science Foundation award (2014-2018) and multiple La Sierra University Deans Research Fund Awards. Collaborative publications highlight physiological scaling in cephalopods and deep-sea observational studies.
- National Science Foundation, Division of Integrative Organismal Systems, $162,000 (2014-2018)
- La Sierra University Deans Research Fund Awards ($3000 each, multiple years)
- UNOLS Early Career Scientist Grant, $1500 (2013)
- Graduate Dean’s Academic Achievement Award (2002)
- De Hann Scholarship (1999)
