Lloyd Edwards

Prof. Lloyd Edwards is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Public Health. He holds concurrent senior scientist roles at UAB's School of Medicine in the Cystic Fibrosis Research Center and Comprehensive Neuroscience Center. His academic credentials include a PhD in Biostatistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Research interests span biostatistical methodologies applied to neurosciences, cardiology, public health, and clinical trials. Notable work includes analyzing carotid stenting outcomes (CREST-2 trial), cognitive aging trajectories, and mucociliary clearance in cystic fibrosis. He has contributed to over 70 peer-reviewed publications since 2017.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on advanced statistical modeling (General Linear/Mixed Models), dissertation research supervision, and biostatistical practicum training. He actively mentors graduate students, serving as committee chair/co-chair for multiple PhD candidates.
