Prof. Ljerka Cerović is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics (EFRI) of the University of Rijeka, specializing in Microeconomics, Energy Economics, and Sustainable Development. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Microeconomics, Social Literacy, and Economic Policy, emphasizing theoretical frameworks and practical applications. Her research focuses on market structures, energy policy, sustainability, and socio-economic impacts of religiosity and education. She has published extensively on topics like renewable energy efficiency, EU energy regulations, and tourism economics. Her work bridges classical microeconomic theory with modern challenges such as digital disruption, climate change, and institutional governance.
Key research areas include: (1) Microeconomic analysis of consumer and producer behavior under various market conditions, (2) Energy transition policies in Croatia and the EU, (3) Social literacy's role in economic development, and (4) Game theory applications in public policy. She contributes to policy debates on SME energy efficiency, tourism demand elasticity, and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
