Lizbeth Goodman

Lizbeth Goodman is a Full Professor of Inclusive Design for Engineering and Education and Chair of Creative Technology Innovation at University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. She directs the Inclusive Design Research Centre of Ireland and the SMARTlab (founded 29 years ago). Her leadership roles include Programme Director for UCD's interdisciplinary Thematic PhD program, spanning all eight colleges. She has held a Personal Chair in Creative Technology Innovation since 2005, focusing on interdisciplinary research and cross-sectoral impact.

• Chair of the Women in Science and Technology Leadership Taskforce (EU-Africa, 2020)
• Global Lead for STEM/STEAM Education (WEF G100 Council, 2021)
• Past roles include Research Director at Futurelab and Academic Chair of the Marie Curie ASSISTID Programme.

Her research emphasizes inclusive design, open-source collaboration models, and future education systems. She has supervised 58 PhDs and currently guides 30 researchers. Awards include the 2019 WEF "Woman of the Decade in Innovation for Education" and leadership roles at DAVOS and the UN.

Lizbeth’s work bridges academia and industry, with grants from research councils, philanthropy, and international bodies. She co-directs the BeEarth VR Experience with the UN and chairs the Royal Irish Academy's Social Sciences Panel (since 2012).
