Liyun Zhang serves as a Research Fellow in Economics at the Department of Economics within Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. Her academic career is firmly rooted at this institution, where she also completed both her MSc and PhD degrees.
Her primary research interests focus on international economics and environmental economics, with particular emphasis on firms' internationalization strategies and environmental behavior. Her methodological expertise includes applied econometrics, which she applies to analyze complex economic-environmental interactions, especially in Chinese manufacturing contexts.
Analysis of her publication history reveals a strong research trajectory centered on the intersection of international trade and environmental outcomes. Her work frequently examines how Chinese firms navigate global markets while managing environmental impacts, with significant contributions to understanding pollution offshoring, emission reduction verification, and the relationship between trade activities and environmental performance.
