Lixia H. Lambert is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee, and additional degrees from Huazhong Agricultural University. Her research focuses on natural resource and environmental economics, bioeconomy development, logistics optimization, and applied economic modeling. Lambert’s work addresses critical issues such as sustainable agriculture, water resource management, and the economic impacts of climate change and disasters.
Her research interests include analyzing public support for soil health practices, optimizing groundwater usage in semi-arid regions, and assessing the economic contributions of bioenergy feedstocks. She has also explored trade volatility, disaster insurance impacts, and the economic ramifications of inland waterway disruptions. Lambert’s interdisciplinary approach integrates quantitative methods with policy analysis to address challenges in agriculture, energy, and environmental systems.
Lambert has collaborated on numerous grants, including studies on irrigation adaptation to climate change and water resource resilience. Her work spans academic and non-academic roles, including research positions at the University of Tennessee and University of Calgary. She has extensive experience in grant-funded projects and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on topics such as supply chain resilience, disaster economics, and sustainable resource management.
