Professor Liudas Mažeika (deceased) was Director of the Prof. K. Baršauskas Ultrasound Research Institute and Professor in the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kaunas University of Technology. He was elected as a full member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in 2016.
His research focused on developing ultrasonic measurement, monitoring, and diagnostic technologies for extreme conditions, with expertise spanning digital signal processing, non-destructive testing, and numerical modeling. He collaborated extensively on international research projects developing new measurement methodologies.
