Liselotte Hardy is a Professor and Head of the Unit of Tropical Bacteriology at the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) in Antwerp, Belgium. She specializes in bacterial diagnostics, particularly in low-resource settings. Her research focuses on developing adapted diagnostic tools, AMR surveillance, and improving healthcare accessibility through innovations like lab-on-chip platforms and simplified blood culture systems. She has held leadership roles, including leading ITM’s Tropical Bacteriology Unit since September 2024. Her work spans collaborations in Africa, Europe, and global health organizations like WHO.
Education: PhD in Medical Sciences (Ghent University, 2016), Master’s in Biomedical Sciences (Ghent University, 2006).
