Lise Patureau

Lise Patureau is a Professor of Economics at Paris-Dauphine University (Paris Dauphine-PSL University) since September 2014. Prior to joining Paris-Dauphine, she held academic positions at the University of Lille I (2010-2014) and the University of Cergy-Pontoise.

Dr. Patureau completed her PhD thesis at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in 2003 and obtained her higher education qualification in economics in 2010. She began her academic career as a lecturer at the University of Cergy-Pontoise after completing her doctorate.

Her primary research focus lies in international macroeconomics, where she adopts the framework of dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models to investigate exchange rate dynamics and the international transmission of shocks. She has made significant contributions to understanding how market imperfections - whether financial or related to labor market matching - influence these economic phenomena. More recently, her work has examined collateral constraints as determinants of corporate investment, using detailed firm-level data to measure heterogeneity across European countries.

Dr. Patureau's research portfolio also encompasses international trade, where she has studied how labor market institutions affect firms' international location decisions and investigated the form, magnitude, and evolution of international transport costs over recent decades. Her work consistently demonstrates a strong interest in economic policy analysis, having examined monetary policy and currently focusing on fiscal policy (including labor taxation, indirect taxation, employment subsidies, and protectionist import tax policy) and structural reforms in a globalized economic environment.

While the majority of her research focuses on industrialized countries, she has also explored growth dynamics in China, examining the role of structural change and technological progress in the convergence between Chinese provinces. Her recent publications indicate continued active research in collateral constraints and international transport costs, reflecting her evolving research agenda while maintaining her core focus on international economic phenomena.
