Dr. Lise Magnier is a researcher affiliated with the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft, specializing in the department of Responsible Marketing and Consumer Behavior. Her work focuses on sustainable design practices, consumer behavior in circular economies, and the development of responsible marketing strategies for eco-friendly products. She actively teaches courses such as 'Sustainable Consumer...' (2024) and 'Understanding Values' (2023), integrating research insights into her pedagogy.
Her research interests span multiple domains including food waste reduction, reusable packaging systems, refurbished electronics adoption, and design interventions for behavioral change. Notable projects include exploring environmental break-even points for consumer packaging decisions and speculative design approaches for sustainable digital futures.
Lise’s recent articles (2023–2025) consistently highlight trends in design-driven sustainability, emphasizing how visual design cues, eco-labeling, and system architecture influence consumer choices. Key themes include mitigating contamination concerns in refurbished products and optimizing refillable packaging for fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
- Received the Best Paper Award in October 2024 for her work on speculative design for sustainable digital futures.
In advising and grants, she collaborates on projects that bridge academic research with industrial applications, particularly in the FMCG and electronics sectors. Her work often involves interdisciplinary teams exploring consumer psychology, packaging innovation, and modular design.
Lise is part of TU Delft’s Research labs focused on design and AI, health, and sustainability, contributing to initiatives that align with the university’s mission to advance circular economies and responsible innovation.
