Lise Karin Meling is an Associate Professor of Music History at the Faculty of Performing Arts, University of Stavanger. Her research focuses on female composers in the 18th century, piano as a domestic instrument in 19th-century Norway, performance practice, and gender dynamics in popular music. She teaches music history and early music performance practice, and co-authored the widely used textbook "Vestens musikkhistorie". As a harpsichordist, she performs internationally with ensembles and orchestras.
