Lisanne Tap is a MD, PhD Researcher at Erasmus MC's Department of Internal Medicine. She completed her PhD in 2020 on 'Age-related renovascular changes - consequences in late life.' Currently, she holds a series of progressive roles in Geriatric Medicine residency training across multiple Dutch hospitals, including Parnassia Groep (since 2024), Amphia Hospital (2020–2024), and Albert Schweitzer Ziekenhuis (2021–2022).
Her research focuses on geriatric health challenges, particularly the interplay between kidney function, chronic diseases, and frailty in older adults. Key projects include the multinational Screening for CKD among Older People across Europe (SCOPE) study, investigating chronic kidney disease outcomes and healthcare utilization patterns. Recent work explores falls prevention strategies, cognitive impacts of rheumatoid arthritis treatments, and post-COVID-19 mortality in frail populations.
Tap collaborates internationally, evidenced by multi-country research networks. Her studies emphasize translational research bridging clinical practice and population health, with particular attention to aging-related comorbidities. Findings are published in high-impact journals like Gerontology and Drugs and Aging.
