Lisa Williams is the Charles J. Luellen Professor of English and Director of the Creative Writing Program at Centre College, where she has taught since 2001. She holds a BA from Belmont University, an MFA in poetry from the University of Virginia, and an MA from the University of Cincinnati.
Her research and creative work focus on contemporary poetry, literary criticism, and narrative techniques. She has published three poetry collections and serves as Series Editor for the University Press of Kentucky's New Poetry and Prose Series. Her poems and essay reviews have appeared in prestigious venues like Poetry, The Kenyon Review, and Orion.
Williams has received notable awards including the Rome Prize, Barnard Women Poets Prize, and May Swenson Poetry Award. She oversees the Creative Writing Program, fostering student creativity and literary excellence.
