Lisa Taylor

Lisa Taylor serves as a Part Time Faculty member in the Biology Department at the University of North Georgia, instructing Human Anatomy and Physiology I (BIOL 2120K) and II (BIOL 2130K) with expertise in Public Health and Nutrition.

Her academic credentials include:

• B.S. in Biology, Davidson College (1982)
• M.P.H. in Nutrition, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1985)
• Registered Dietitian certification and Education Specialist credentials from UNC Chapel Hill
• Advanced Placement Certification from University of Georgia

Ms. Taylor's research centers on science literacy development, investigating how students build scientific understanding from middle school through introductory college courses. She identifies foundational concepts enabling lifelong learning in life sciences, emphasizing practical application for informed decision-making about health and environmental issues. Her teaching philosophy champions science as "always an uphill climb... always new discoveries" that cultivates appreciation for life science.

With continuous service since 2010 as UNG Adjunct Faculty and high school educator since 1997 (Chestatee High School and Westminster School), she also serves as a College Board AP Reader since 2009.
