Dr. Lisa Tam is a Senior Lecturer in Advertising and Public Relations at QUT Business School, part of the Faculty of Business & Law. She holds a PhD in Communication from Purdue University and has over a decade of academic and industry experience. Her research focuses on strategic communication, public relations, and mixed-methods approaches, with over 42 journal articles, 8 book chapters, and industry reports. Tam emphasizes industry-relevant teaching, designing authentic assessments aligned with professional practices. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and an Associate Fellow (AFHEA) in Indigenous Knowledges.

Research Interests: Tam’s work bridges organizational and stakeholder perspectives, exploring topics like conspiratorial thinking in workplaces, crisis communication, and AI ethics. She has led research teams and secured six externally funded projects, contributing to policy advisory documents. Her research has received four Top Paper Awards, including two co-authored with students.
Teaching & Service: Tam has taught at QUT, La Trobe University, Purdue University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She served as Subject Area Coordinator for Advertising at QUT and held leadership roles in academic and editorial boards, including the Journal of Public Diplomacy and the International Communication Association (ICA) Public Relations Division.
