Lisa Söderström is a Postdoctoral Researcher and registered dietitian at the Center for Clinical Research in Västmanland, affiliated with Uppsala University. She works as a local node coordinator for clinical studies in Region Västmanland and serves as a development officer at CKF. Her primary affiliation is with Västmanland County Hospital in Västerås, Sweden.
Dr. Söderström earned her PhD in Medical Sciences in February 2016 with a dissertation focused on malnutrition screening of older adults. Her research has consistently centered on nutritional issues affecting elderly populations, with particular emphasis on malnutrition assessment, prevention, and treatment.
Her research interests span several critical areas in clinical nutrition, including malnutrition in elderly patients, adherence to nutritional supplements, nutritional assessment tools like the Mini Nutritional Assessment, and clinical outcomes related to nutritional status. Her work bridges the gap between nutritional science and practical clinical implementation in healthcare settings.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on understanding the complex relationship between malnutrition and mortality in elderly populations, as well as investigating barriers to adherence with nutritional interventions. Her research increasingly incorporates mixed-methods approaches to understand both quantitative outcomes and patient perspectives on nutritional treatments.
Lisa Söderström has established herself as a significant contributor to the field of geriatric nutrition through her extensive publication record in high-impact journals including Clinical Nutrition, British Journal of Nutrition, and Nutrition Research Reviews.
As a development officer at the Center for Clinical Research, she plays an active role in shaping clinical research protocols and improving nutritional care practices within the healthcare system. Her work has been cited extensively, with several publications referenced in clinical guidelines and policy documents.
