Lisa Roberts

Lisa Roberts, DrPH, is a Professor in the School of Nursing and the School of Behavioral Health at Loma Linda University. She serves as Director of Research in the School of Nursing and is actively involved in graduate nursing education. Her academic roles include teaching qualitative research methods and mentoring doctoral students in dissertation research.

Dr. Roberts' research centers on public health and nursing interventions for vulnerable populations, with a focus on health disparities, maternal and child health, sickle cell disease, and global health. Her work integrates qualitative, mixed-methods, and systematic review approaches to explore reproductive decision-making, perinatal grief, cultural competence, and nurse well-being. She has conducted significant research in India, Haiti, and among African immigrant communities in the U.S.

Her recent publications (2023–2025) highlight themes such as climate change impacts on maternal health, parental leave policies, mental health in low-income women, and bereavement care following perinatal loss.
