Lisa O'Malley

Lisa O'Malley is Senior Lecturer in Social Policy and Crime at the University of York's School for Business and Society. Her research examines intersections between social policy, crime and social harm, with particular focus on:

• Military veteran homelessness and welfare systems
• Policy transfer in criminal justice
• Urban regeneration and community organizations
• Gender-based violence responses

She chairs the Independent Practice Panel and serves on the Forces in Mind Trust Research Centre Advisory Group. Her teaching portfolio includes undergraduate modules 'Introducing Criminal Justice', 'Social Research Methods', and 'Gender, Violence and Justice', emphasizing real-world case studies and critical policy analysis.
