Lisa McDaid is a Research Fellow at the School of Health Sciences, University of East Anglia, with a focus on qualitative research methods and public/patient involvement in health research. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences (2017) and contributes to teaching qualitative methods, tobacco control, and public engagement at UEA.

Her research centers on smoking cessation in pregnancy, digital health interventions, and public involvement in addiction research. She leads the eSupport programme (NIHR-funded) to develop digital tools for smoking cessation in pregnancy and previously worked on the N-READY programme to optimize NRT use during pregnancy. Her work spans NHS and community settings, emphasizing patient-centered approaches.
Lisa established the UEA Addiction Research Public Involvement Panel and co-founded the Citizens Academy at UEA. She serves as the Lifespan Health research theme representative and has published 27 research outputs, including studies on mobile health apps, NRT adherence, and injury prevention in children.
