Research Focus
Dr. Majewski’s work centres on quantifying the regional economic effects of tourism within Germany’s National Natural Landscapes (National Parks, Biosphere Reserves and Nature Parks). She employs advanced input-output modelling and multi-regional analysis to capture value-added, employment and multiplier effects arising from visitor expenditure. Her projects integrate methodological standardisation, policy-oriented monitoring and comparative international perspectives (e.g., US National Park Service collaboration).
Current investigations include the development of a nationwide input-output application for continuous monitoring of tourism value-added across all 16 German federal states, funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU). Earlier work encompassed comprehensive socio-economic assessments for UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and pilot valuations of nature park tourism.
Selected Projects & Grants
- Monitoring value-added from nature tourism in National Natural Landscapes (€168,600, 2024-2025, PI)

Labs & Collaboration
She conducts her research within the Human Geography Research Group at Würzburg, working closely with Prof. Dr. Hubert Job as project leader and mentoring junior researchers. Extended research stays at the United States National Park Service and US Geological Survey in Fort Collins, Colorado (2019 & 2023) underpin strong transatlantic collaboration on methodological harmonisation and comparative studies.
