Lisa Krogman serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Minot State University, where she teaches nursing courses while also contributing to the Biology Department curriculum. With over 30 years of clinical experience across ICU, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Mental Health, and Emergency Department settings, she brings substantial practical knowledge to her academic role.
Dr. Krogman earned her BSN from South Dakota State University, becoming a registered nurse in 1993 after initial training as an LPN in 1983. Her advanced education includes an MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Clarkson College (2013) and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice specializing in Nursing Organizational Leadership from the University of Mary (April 2023).
Her research interests focus on nursing education methodologies, critical care nursing practices, and organizational leadership within healthcare systems. She emphasizes the connection between quality nursing instruction and improved clinical outcomes, believing passionate educators directly impact nursing excellence. Her clinical expertise spans multiple high-acuity specialties, with particular focus on translating bedside experience into effective teaching approaches.
Currently maintaining an active clinical role as a Nurse Practitioner alongside her academic responsibilities, Dr. Krogman represents the valuable integration of practice and education. Her career trajectory from LPN through military service to doctoral-level nursing leadership provides a unique perspective on professional development within the nursing field.
