Lisa J. Skinner, MD, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She practices and teaches within the Department of Medicine, focusing on women’s health issues and the education of residents.
Research Interests
- Women’s health across the lifespan, with special attention to menopause and osteoporosis.
- Evaluation of clinical competence among residents in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Design and assessment of educational interventions to improve resident knowledge and patient care quality.
Her recent peer-reviewed work has employed large cross-sectional surveys to quantify knowledge gaps in osteoporosis and menopause management among postgraduate trainees in the United States. These studies highlight the need for targeted curricula to ensure evidence-based care for midlife and older women.
