Lisa Green is a Distinguished University Professor and Director of the Center for the Study of African American Languages (CSAAL) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from UMass and previously served at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on syntactic variation in African American English (AAE), particularly systems of tense/aspect marking, negation, and left periphery phenomena. She emphasizes integrating linguistic theory with practical applications in education and social contexts.
