Lisa Avery

Lisa Avery is a Professor at the Wegman School of Pharmacy, St. John Fisher University, specializing in Infectious Disease. She holds a Pharm.D. and B.S. Pharm. from SUNY Buffalo and completed an Infectious Diseases Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her work spans clinical pharmacy, education, and antimicrobial stewardship leadership.

She has led initiatives in penicillin allergy skin testing and optimized antimicrobial prescribing in urgent care settings.

Publication Trends: Recent work focuses on pharmacy education, antimicrobial stewardship, and allergy assessment in both outpatient and inpatient environments, with emphasis on COVID-19 and RSV during 2019–2022. Topics include antibiotic duration, telepharmacy, and case study pedagogy.
