Liridona Shkodra

Liridona Shkodra is a PhD Candidate and Research Associate in the Agricultural Markets Department at the University of Hohenheim since October 2022. Her research focuses on economic strategies to improve food quality standards in Kosovo, with particular interest in food quality and safety, new institutional economics, institutional change, and transition economies.

Her educational background includes:

• M.Sc. in Agriculture and Food Economics from the University of Prishtina, with a master thesis on 'Assessing the Indicators of Farm-Level Sustainability – IDEA Method'
• BSc in Agro-Economy from the University of Prishtina

Shkodra's research interests center on food quality and safety within the framework of new institutional economics, examining how institutional change affects agricultural markets in transition economies, especially Kosovo. Her work aims to develop economic strategies for enhancing food quality standards through market mechanisms and policy interventions.

Her publication on agricultural finance in rural Kosovo (2018) exemplifies her focus on financial aspects of agricultural development in transition settings, contributing to agricultural economics and development finance. This early work sets the stage for her current doctoral research on food quality standards.
